Conflict Resolution: Breaking the Impasse (DISCONTINUED COURSE)
Negotiation, Mediation & Conflict Resolution Programs

When disputes arise between individuals or groups they can be very destructive. It is important to determine when the parties are able to resolve the dispute themselves, when they need assistance, and what form the assistance should take if necessary. In this seminar, the skills from Effective Negotiating and Influencing Skills will be expanded upon by developing an understanding of assisted negotiation in both two-party and multiple-party negotiations. You will learn how to apply the MIT/Harvard Model to resolve seemingly impossible disputes and be able to practice all of the skills necessary to develop optimal solutions. Case studies and simulations will be used throughout the seminar.

Participants will receive a copy of Lawrence Susskind’s book Breaking the Impasse.

Prerequisite:  Completion of Effective Negotiating and Influencing Skills or equivalent.

Conflict Resolution: Breaking the Impasse is a required seminar for the Certificate in Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict Resolution.
